Jed in his awesome hat riding up. He kept pulling it down over his eyes.
Getting ready. While the boys fished, Hanna and my mom and Jed and I took a hike up the mountain. It was so beautiful!

The most fun thing about our hike was an old dump that we happened upon. We're not sure if it was an old mining camp or a logging camp, but whatever it was, there was the coolest trash! We found old shoes, coffee cans, Spam cans, broken dishes and bottles, bedsprings...all sorts of rusty and broken stuff a person can't live without in the mountains. It was amazing!
Sunday evening we drove to Clark's Lookout, a little knob of rock not too far from our house. William Clark scrambled up there the summer of 1805 and recorded three different compass readings he took. The state has turned it into a small state park and put a beautiful monument on top. You can clamber around on the rocks to your heart's content. So we did!
