A visit to the Fam

We are in Big Piney this week! Dave is redoing Pompa's floor while Pompa is gone and Jed and I weren't about to be left out of the fun. We have been having a great time.

Monday Dave sanded the floor while Elsa, Hannah and I switched back and forth between the Olympics and ANTM. It was fabulous. Jed LOVED having Dave down at his level and slid all over the newly sanded floor on his belly. Dave said Jed is a great buffer.

Tuesday Dave stained the floor and some doors to go around Pompa's water heater. Jed insisted on hanging out in the work room with Dave, so he "helped" with the doors and played in the sawdust. When he came to see me he had a ring of sawdust around his mouth and desperately wanted a drink. He wasn't hungry for several hours. Tuesday night we went to Matt's last home game where they beat Farson by about 30 points! Yay Matt and the Punchers!

Yesterday Dave put the first coat of varnish on the floor while Jed took a nap and I worked on my handout for my first mini-class for our ward. It's on beans. If any of you have hints on how you incorporate beans into your family's diet, leave me a comment. After his nap, Jed had a coughing fit that turned into a barfing fit. He barfed, fittingly enough, beans all over a new white shirt. It's now soaking in the sink.

After we cleaned up the barf and checked on the varnish, we went swimming at the BPHS pool. They have a great setup--a large pool for laps and play, a dive tank and a lovely warm kiddie pool. Jed wasn't sure about the swimming at first but after we reminded him that he knows how to splash, he had a great time. We took him down and back in the lap pool for a while and he got a great arm workout and then we went to the kiddie pool and practiced floating and standing and kicking and all sorts of other swimming goodness. Jed swims like his grandpa Monte--all arms and no legs. We think he has the makings of a great butterflier.

After school, Hannah and I went on a little shopping trip around Big Piney (it didn't take very long). But I found some yummy wax for my Scentsy! And we found a ton of cute (expensive!) fabric which we drooled over but didn't buy.

So we've been having a great time. Once the floor is done, I'll post some pictures of the finished product. Dave has been working really hard to make it turn out nice.

hey-glad you guys are having fun! That is awesome that Dave can redo floors! (Oh, and I am glad that Jed is obviously getting his daily fiber :-))

i have a pretty good recipe for Fudge made with refried beans. Sounds gross, but it is actually good. If you want it, just let me know! =)
