Jedder Cheese

Jed is Mister Personality lately. He is picking up new words right and left and uses them to great effect. New words/phrases lately include breakfast, oatmeal, peas, cheese, oh boy, baby, airplane, noi (for noise, which he says anytime he hears something unfamiliar), yeah (which, in true Southern fashion, has two syllables) and hey. His favorite is to take two bites of any meal, then throw up his hands and cheer "All done!" He refers to himself as Booy, has developed a great passion for Lincoln Logs and loves to watch Charlotte's Web and "Horses" (the Man from Snowy River). His favorite time of day is 7:15 am, when the school bus comes down our road; a close second is 5:00 pm, when Dayie gets home. He sings little songs constantly and has the whole melody of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star memorized. Jed has suddenly developed a passion for reading and will ask for the same book over and over and over.

He calls my glasses "eyes" and thinks it's hilarious to wear them and see how blurry the world is.

Friday night we were updating our 72-hour kits. I figured it was time since we didn't have anything for Jed in there, except a pack of wipes. Jed found this little backpack and wore it all night long. He thought it was hilarious. That is truly my favorite thing about Jed right now--his sense of humor is developing and if he thinks something is funny, he'll do it over and over again. Mostly I've been lucky and the thing is actually funny.
