last play day at Sonic

This morning we had our last play day at Sonic. I hate all these "lasts" and am not going to dwell on them, so let's just pretend it was a regular play day at Sonic.

The kids all play really well together there, probably because no one is defending "their" toys. They love the slides and especially the sand.

All the kiddos--minus Holland (who was laying in a hole) and Kendall (who had climbed somewhere and couldn't get down)--having a great time.

It was really nice just to sit and chat about normal things while the kids played. I love my friends so dearly and our conversation today reminded me why we're friends--because we all care about the same things, even if we have different opinions on them. We discussed swimming pools and swimming lessons, gardens, Mormon dating habits, college housing, vegan lifestyles, and homeschooling, among other things. It was great to think about other things than switching utility companies and banks for a while.

Carrie, Alisha, me and Laura. Missing are Julie, who's at the beach with her family, and Joanne, who's camping with her family.

Hooray for a fun, sandy, soda-y play day!
