just a bunch of random pictures

The other night after Hank's bath, he was combing his hair. He did a pretty good job!

Hank really is a water baby! He loves his bath. Except when he pushes his feet against the bottom of the sink and bonks his head on the other side.

Jed loves to ride in Hank's car seat when Hank isn't using it. He pretends to be a "sad baby" and cries mostly. Hank really isn't a sad baby, but when he is sad, it's usually in his carseat. He doesn't like having his arms restricted.
Dave was patching our canoe on Monday and we were all outside "helping." I love this onesie so much and can't believe that Hank already fits in it so well. Jed didn't wear it regularly until he was 2 months old!
Hank was a night owl on Tuesday night. He and Dave had a little chat about how important it is to sleep, but it didn't seem to help.

We were trying to get ready to go for a jog this morning and Hank fell asleep in his car seat. I am not sure if Dave or Jed poked the caterpillar in with him (my money is on Dave, since Jed thinks the caterpillar belongs to him and throws a major fit when he sees Hank using it) but he looked so sweet that I had to take a picture of him.
I love this little hand! What a sweet boy it belongs to.

Hank is doing really well for a two-week-old boy. He seems to enjoy tummy time and his neck is getting a lot stronger. He loves to eat and will nurse as often as I will let him. His eyes are getting more and more brown and they stay open for longer periods of time, especially after his first morning nap and after his bath at night.

Jed is a good big brother. He loves it when Hank sneezes or burps and yesterday at the Farmer's Market told everyone that his name was "burp." He loves to watch diaper changes and to pick out what clothes Hank should wear. Jed will start school on the 17th and I am torn between being excited for him to meet new friends, learn new things and have other adult influences, and sad, because now he's growing up and will never be completely mine again. I know that sounds silly--he will always be mine--but wholly mine to influence and teach. He is such an innocent kid and I am reluctant for him to learn dorky little boy things from other dorky little boys. Oh well, such is life.
