The Sickie

We have had a sick little boy on our hands the past couple of days. Wednesday night I came home from Mutual and Jed was just screaming with pain. We tried for several hours to figure out what was wrong with him but everything we tried wasn't helping.
Poor Jed! He was so sad and sick--he had such thick mucus in his nose and throat and just coughed and croaked all the time. We had to suck it out with the bulb thing, which only made Jed's tears worse.

After so many tears from Jed (and me!) we finally got him to sleep about 11:30 Wednesday night. Thursday morning he wasn't eating well and just wimpered and wanted to be held. He started running a fever, too! We made an appointment with the doctor ASAP and they checked for RSV and an ear infection. He was definitely NOT thrilled with the nose and ear examinations! After finding out the RSV test was negative and that his ear was a little red, they gave him some antibiotics and baby Tylenol for his fever.

Jed isn't too thrilled with the Amoxycillin but he has learned to take it pretty well. It is helping so much! His fever is gone this morning, he's eating happily, he is even smiling again! Hooray!

This is as close to a smile as I could get this morning, but Jed really is a lot better. Yay for antibiotics!
