I've decided to start featuring one of my favorite recipes on the blog each month. I love to cook and I love to share recipes, so I thought this might be fun. My only problem is deciding which recipe to start with! After lots of thought, I picked my mom's graham crackers. I love these homemade graham crackers--the perfect after-school snack, as they take about 15 minutes to prepare, about 8 minutes to cook, and about 5 minutes to disappear! They're so crunchy and wholesome, a fabulous change of pace from other greasey or sugary options. Hope you enjoy!
Shauna Morgan’s Graham Crackers
2 C whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ C butter, melted
3 Tbsp brown sugar
2 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp milk
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix in brown sugar, then butter. In small bowl, microwave honey and milk until warm and stir. Mix honey-milk into dough. Roll out on cookie sheet until very thin, then score with a knife or pizza cutter. Bake at 400 for 8 minutes or until brown. You can sprinkle cinnamon sugar on uncooked dough if you want.
I hope you enjoy this recipe. If there's a recipe you're interested in, drop me a line and I'll try to put it on here as well. Also, welcome to my cousin Meredith, who just started her own blog. I'm so happy to be able to see your cute family, Meredith!
