I'd also like to apologize for the disgusting nature of this post. If you're feeling queasy or ill, DON'T read any farther. Truly, click the x and go drink some ginger ale.
Once again, we'd like to remind you that things ARE bigger in Texas. The other night, Dave summoned me to the back patio to show me the following spectacle:
(sorry for the Blair Witch Project quality of that film).
Yes, that wasp dragged that dead spider underneath our porch chair. And then it tried to make itself at home. Dave was working on a little project and definitely didn't want the wasp to take up residence. He pulled out the can of Raid and did the wasp in, but the spider suddenly came back to life and writhed and twitched for about 20 minutes before dying grotesquely
I definitely think this guy is related to that spider in Harry Potter.
My guess is that the wasp had just stunned the spider instead of actually killing it, but who knows, maybe Raid has magical spider-restoring properties. Something to wonder about, at any rate.
Blech.

we do not have words to describe.... that is the craziest thing ever! I definitely agree with you that the spider had to have been on Harry Potter...yuck!
We hope you guys are doing well and that Dave had a good Father's Day!
Miss you!
yuck... we had something weird happen with spiders and wasps too. we had a mud wasp take up residence in between our screen and door, when Ryan knocked down the mud hut, it was packed FULL of fat green spiders? (i feel a little bad for wrecking his home, and destroying his food storage, lol)
