FHE at Houston County Lake

Our friends Ed and Alisha Hewett and their kids invited us to hang out at Houston County Lake last night for family home evening. Ed recently purchased a jet ski and they've been having a great time with it. We were anxious to join in the fun.

Jed hung out with Alisha, Holland and Isabel in the shallows while Ed and Elena pulled the tube with Dave and I on it. Ed gave us a great long ride and we had SO much fun going back and forth over the wake.

I realized as we were there that Dave and I have never gone boating together before. It was so much fun to hang out on the tube with my handsome husband!

After Elena and Isabel had their turns driving the jet ski, Dave and I went out. We had a lot of fun exploring the little coves of the lake, checking out the fancy houses on the lake and going fast!

While we were out, Jed and Holland had a great time blowing bubbles and splashing around together. Jed was a little sullen for a while because we'd had to wake him up from a d e e p sleep to get to the lake. He soon recovered his cheery disposition and enjoyed the splashing a LOT.

Once we were all done with the tube, we put the boys on it so they could hang out and float in comfort. They loved floating and spinning.

After a while, we got hungry, so we had yummy dinner of fruit salad, hot dogs for the kiddos, black-bean burgers for the adventurous adults (they were awesome--recipe forthcoming!), chips and Mississippi Mud bars for dessert on the dock. It was SO much fun hanging out with our awesome friends and enjoying the warm weather. We were all extremely worn out when we left!
