And, here he is, after his haircut:
Holy Cow! It's like we have a completely new boy in our house! Should Jed ever need to enter the witness protection program, all he'll need to do is either cut or grow out his hair--he looks completely different.

Here's Jed during his haircut, showing off his snazzy mullet. We thought about leaving it--we are in Texas, after all--for all of 2 milliseconds. And then we came to our senses.

Jed was hilarious when we took him into the bathroom to show him his new hair. He stared at himself, as though he didn't know who the boy in the mirror was, then reached up and stroked his hair. It was so adorable.
I love the way short hair feels under my fingertips. All day yesterday and today, I've been rubbing his head. And Dave's--we cut his too. Dave and Jed match perfectly now!
I'm not sure if this is going to be a permanent thing or not. I do love that we don't have to comb it out in the mornings, because that was pure torture, for Jed and I both. Jed looks so grown up to me now. I love it and hate it at the same time. Slow down and stop growing, little boy--we have all the time in the world.
