Storage Baskets

Next on my list of house to-do's is the master bedroom closet. It is stuffed full of clothes, blankets, down items like comforters, vests and sleeping bags, food storage, shoes, and general junk and it desperately needs cleaned out. Before we can clean it out, though, we need a place to put things once they're sorted.

I have dreams of a lovely closet with baskets of graduated sizes lining the shelves, but storage baskets are EXPENSIVE. I found an adorable, cheap option here and became even more excited when I went through my fabric stash and knew I wouldn't have to buy anything to get this project done.

Ta-da! The finished storage baskets. These were fairly simple to make--if you click on the link, you can see step-by-step directions, so I'm not going to give them to you here. The best part is that this project required some hand sewing, which I love to do because it gives me an excuse to watch TV and call it "housework." Doesn't get any better than that!

I really loved this project because it gave me an excuse to use this awesome fabric that my mom found at DI. I think it's so funky and retro and I just love it. I think these are a really great storage option for every room of the house because it would be simple to make baskets of different diameters and heights and since you can choose the fabric you use, it's easy to make things coordinate. Love it!
