visit to Utah, part II: Outside with PahPah

Jed really calls my dad PahPah. The "h" is definitely audible, and I think it's awesomely cute. Our boy has been picking up new words right and left, and he's having a blast hanging out with Auntie Hanna and Uncle Stephen.

Tonight my dad had a chance to plant some potatoes and Jed went outside to hang out with him. My parents have a little fire pit behind their garden and my dad had propped some wood up to dry. Jed made it his little fort. He stole rocks from the fire pit and threw them in the fort, then sat down and played with sticks and his stolen rocks.

Even though it was a little chilly outside, Jed loved crawling over the big logs, kicking the leaves and poking his fingers in the mud.

Then my dad decided to light a little fire to burn some sticks. Of course, Jed had to help light the matches.

This video is pretty quiet, but you can see just how much Jed loves lighting matches:

"Ooooohhhh!" Jed is already making me concerned about his future career as a boy scout.

Such a fun night outside with PahPah!
