Signs of the Times Take Two

This gorgeous sign sits in front of a brand new high school about 35 miles north of us.

The whole town is intensely proud of their fighting 'elks' and deservedly so--they're probably the only 'elks' in all of East Texas.

This bothers me on so many levels. First of all, why pick an animal that will never be found in your region of the country? Secondly, ELKS?! Maybe geeses and mices were already taken?
