the fancy cup

On a whim, we used our fancy glasses for dinner Monday night. Jed was still asleep when dinner was ready, so Dave and I sat down for a quiet meal. It has been one of those days, you know the ones, and the peace was welcome.

When Jed woke up later, he immediately wanted to drink out of the "fancy cup." The beverage didn't matter, but the cup definitely did.

He's been drinking out of it ever since. And since he's been painstakingly careful, I've been glad to oblige.

This boy constantly amazes me. He has the ability to be destructive, frustrating, wild and crazy, yet he's also incredibly careful and sensitive at the same time. The irksome part of parenting is that you never know which trait is going to pop out at any given moment. My current challenge is learning to embrace each in their respective turns.
