Hank is 9 months old! He had his 9 month check up yesterday and these are his stats:
weight: 21 lbs 9 oz
height: 28 1/4 inches
head circumference: 17.5 inches
This morning Dave went to get Hank and he had rolled over in his bed! He looked so pleased with himself. Although Hank has great core strength, rolling has been something he doesn't really do. So I was thrilled to see him on his tummy.
Hank has basically given up nursing--he only nurses in the morning now. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I am so anxious to begin dieting and wearing my normal clothes and (most especially) underwear. On the other hand, I am sad about the loss of snuggle time and closeness. However, he certainly doesn't seem to be suffering, and it is fun to hold him while he drinks a bottle at night before bed. Sometimes he lays in his crib while he drinks his bottle, and it's so cute to see his little feet kicking with pleasure while he feeds himself.Hank has 7 teeth and uses them with gusto. He loves to bite any kind of cracker, celery and strawberries. He also bites fingers, shoulders and knees when they come in close proximity to his teeth.
Hank's personality is beginning to show more strongly than ever, and he is truly delightful--until he gets mad about something; then he is truly wretched. He is very strong-willed and knows exactly what he wants and is determined to get it. He has the most adorable giggle and babbles all the time, unless he is angry. When he gets mad, he shrieks loud enough and high enough to shatter glass. When he is sad, he can be very mournful indeed and sobs and cries so you feel his pain. He screws up his face before he starts crying, so we have fair warning, and Jed has taken to clapping his hands over his ears and running away when he sees Hank's pre-cry face. When he is happy, he is so friendly and funny. He loves to play games like peek-a-boo and drop-the-toy and is learning to wave.
We LOVE our Hankers!
