a fun day shooting

The Saturday after we got home from our travels, we took some time to poke around in the woods and go shooting. Jed and Hank love to aim at anything and everything. Jed is getting to be a fairly good shot. He has great form!

 Hank is like Jed's little shadow--he wants to do exactly the same thing Jed does, even if he's not physically able. He trotted after Jed in the woods like a little puppy.

 Some fall color was starting to show. I love fall in Michigan! It's so beautiful!

We had such a nice day, poking around in the woods and aiming at any leaf that held still.

 We also saw some really cool mushrooms. The above ones are puffball mushrooms and the ones below are chanterelles. We should have taken the chanterelles home and cooked them up--they are supposed to be delicious! I love their beautiful orange color.
