Change of Scenery
Well, we have some good news for all of you. We have been offered an internship for the winter semester at the City of Rocks National Reserve in Almo, ID. We were a bit dismayed to learn that only 2 of the 6 classes Dave needed to graduate were offered this coming semester, so we decided to take a break from Rexburg and applied for several jobs in various parks. Dave was offered this job last Wednesday, and we're really excited about it. He will spend 10 weeks learning all about park management, including law enforcement, adminstration, visitor services, natural resources and maintenance. After he finishes this internship, he has 6 more classes and then he'll be a Graduate! Almo and the COR is 50 miles south of Burley, ID, and rumor has it that Almo is pretty small, although they do have a ward house there. Dave will be starting his internship on December 17th, so we have a few busy weeks ahead of us, but we're definitely glad to be taking a break from school and the "big city" and looking forward to small town life once again. I will also be doing some ornithology or botany/herbarium work for the park too, so that will be pretty cool. Anyway, we just wanted to let you know, so if you're on your way to Boise, stop in and see us--we'll be happy to show you around the City of Rocks!
